Manchester United Target Everton’s Jordan Pickford As De Gea Replacement (Details)

Manchester United are now considering signing Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a replacement for David de Gea, Breaking Sport News reports.

De Gea’s current contract could expire this summer, although United can still extend it for another 12 months.

However, The 32-year-old is expected to sign a new contract to stay at Old Trafford.

Despite the contract extension, De Gea would take a pay cut and lose his position as first choice goalkeeper.

According to the Daily Star, Man United Coach Erik ten Hag has considered options for the future.

Pickford has now emerged as one of the players to succeed De Gea, which would be easy if Everton relegate this season.

The Toffees are outside the bottom three of the Premier league with three games left, but anything could still happen.

Relegation would make England’s No.1 goalkeeper demand an exit from Goodison Park, despite signing a four-and-a-half year new contract.

Pickford has impressed as always for Everton across his 34 matches in the Premier League this season.

The 29-year-old has played 234 matches for the Toffees since he joined the club in 2017.

Pickford has also played 52 matches for the England national team and becoming coach Gareth Southgate’s first choice.

Man United are also liked to to young Dutch keeper Bart Verbruggen from Anderlecht as they seek a replacement for De Gea.

De Gea’s quality has been called into question after recent errors in the Europa League and Premier League.

Also, He still has the most Premier League clean sheets this season, but his high-profile mistakes are not helping.
